Emergency Procedures/ Evacuation Plans
Each industry will have its own specific policies and procedures that must be followed in case of an emergency. These will relate to the situations unique to that industry. Set out below is a general outline of what to do and who to contact in a variety of emergency situations.

- notifying emergency service organizations promptly
- medical treatment and assistance
- effective communication between the authorized person who coordinates the emergency response and all persons at the workplace.
- testing of the emergency procedures, including the frequency of testing.
- information, training and instruction to relevant workers in relation to implementing the emergency procedures.
- the nature of the work being carried out at the workplace
- the nature of the hazards at the workplace
- the size and location of the workplace
- the number and composition of the workers and other persons at the workplace.
